Bhawanipatna, Feb 2: In another incident of man-animal conflict, a man and his wife were trampled to death by an elephant herd at Kadomali village under the Lanjigarh forest section in Kalahandi district late on Saturday night.
The deceased couple was identified as Mugan Majhi and Gada Majhi. According to the information, villagers were sleeping in their houses when a herd of elephants entered their village and went on razing houses and attacking people.
While many villagers managed to run for safety, Mugan and his wife came in front of the herd. The jumbos pushed them to the ground and pressed them under their feet.
