Cuttack, Nov 8: The man-animal conflict continues to claim lives in the state as an elephant trampled a man to death near a mango orchard in the Badamba area of Cuttack district in the wee hours of Wednesday. 

The deceased has been identitied as Sanjay Nayak (36) a resident of Kaonlapala village. 

According to the information, Sanjay was a elephan entered into the mango orchard. When he was trying to drive away the elephant,it attacked him. As a result,  Sanjay died on the spot. 

It is to be noted that on Tuesday, a woman died from an elephant attack on the same spot. The locals are suspected the same elephant is invovled in the attack and urged the forest department to take action to curb the deaths.
