Angul, Jul 12: The carcass of a wild elephant was found near Saharaguda village under the jurisdiction of Angul Forest Range in Odisha on Saturday morning.

According to reports, the matter came to fore after some locals spotted the elephant carcass this morning and informed the matter to the forest officials.

Acting swiftly, forest personnel reached the spot and began an investigation into the matter.

Preliminary findings suggest that the deceased animal was indeed a female elephant, although the exact cause of death is yet to be determined.
