Balasore, May 17: A man was trampled to death by a wild elephant at a village under Kuldiha Wildlife Sanctuary in Odisha's Balasore district on Friday.
The deceased has been identified as Harekrishna Pradhan, a resident of Dholpur village under Oupada block in the district.
According to the sources, the incident occured this morning when Pradhan had gone to a field near the village.
The elephant reportedly entered the village in search of food. The elderly man unfortunately came in front of the elephant that trampled him to death.

✨After getting information, Kuldiha Forest officials reached the spot and started an investigation into the incident.
The locals demanded adequate compensation to the victim's family.
There has been an increasing number of man-animal conflicts in Kuldiha Wildlife Sanctuary area but the officials are not taking necessary steps in this regard, locals alleged.
