Nuapada, Mar 2: An elderly man was hacked to death by some unidentified men infront of Superintendent of Police residence in Nuapada district.

The deceased has been identified as Sukhlal Sahoo of the same locality.

According to reports, some bike-borne miscreants intercepted Sukhlal and attacked him with sharp weapon. Later, they fled the spot. Soon after the incident, he was rushed to hospital where he was declared dead while undergoing treatment.

While the exact reason behind the incident is yet to be ascertained, police have registered a case and launched a probe into the incident.
