Bhubaneswar, Feb 28: Officials of the Enforcement Directorate (ED)grilled senior Biju Janata Dal (BJD) leader and Bhadaripokhari MLA, Prafulla Samal for around eight hours here in connection with alleged financial irregularities at Barpada School of Engineering and Technology (BSET) in Bhadrak.

After about eight hours of grilling at the ED office here, Samal said, “the ED had summoned me to appear and I appeared before them. Whatever questions they asked, I replied. I cannot say more as the matter is sub judice.”

Asked whether he was involved in the alleged financial irregularities at Barapada Engineering College, the BJD MLA said, “I have told whatever the ED officials asked.”

On February 15,  The ED had raided 10 premises related to Samal, also a former Odish Minister, in connection with its probe in the money laundering case.

The BJD MLA was asked to appear before the ED on February 28 with all the relevant documents, officials said.
