Double-Decker Buses To Play Big Role For Tourism In Odisha: Urban Development Minister

Bhubaneswar, Jan 4: The double-decker buses will play a big role in tourism sector, said Dr Krushna Chandra Mohapatra, Minister of Housing and Urban Development, Public Enterprise.
Odisha will have five double-decker buses in total, out of which two have already arrived in Bhubaneswar Friday. The buses are battery powered, having a battery capacity of 240 KW. The bus can run up to 150 km with AC and 250 km without AC on a single charge.
"After the 'Pravasi Bharatiya Divas', the new buses will go to the tourist places. Two double-decker buses have already arrived with three more to come," stated the Urban Development Minister.
The 'Pravasi Bharatiya Divas' celebrations will commence January 8 and it will conclude January 10. Mohapatra said that after the event, the buses will operate in different routes.
As per reports, initially, this buses will operate between Cuttack to Bhubaneswar and Bhubaneswar to Puri after 'Pravasi Bharatiya Divas'. There is a lot of enthusiasm among the people for the operation of double-decker bus for the first time in Odisha.
In addition, Dr Mohapatra said that five new Mo Buses with latest design have also come and five more will come.
