Puri, Jan 5: One of the double-decker buses has arrived in Puri for a trail run ahead of the Pravasi Bharatiya Divas in Bhubaneswar.
The bus will take a tour from Malatipatpur to the Jagannath Ballav Pilgrim Center (JBPC), Samang and Sterling Resort in Puri.
The buses will be operated during the Pravasi Bharatiya Divas, which will be held January 8-10 at Janata Maidan in Bhubaneswar.
The overseas Indians will tour the nearby tourist places of the capital city in the buses. After the event, the buses will come into operation for general public.
A couple of double-decker buses had arrived in Bhubaneswar January 3. Odisha will get five double-decker buses in total. The buses are battery powered, having a battery capacity of 240 KW. The bus can run up to 150 km with AC and 250 km without AC on a single charge.
Initially, this bus will operate between Cuttack to Bhubaneswar and Bhubaneswar to Puri after Pravasi Bharatiya Divas. There is a lot of enthusiasm among the people for the operation of double-decker bus for the first time in Odisha.
