Ganjam, Jun 2: A horrific murder has shaken Govindpur village in Kabisuryanagar of Ganjam district, where a man was allegedly stabbed to death by his wife and father-in-law in a late-night attack.
The incident occurred in Dhoba Sahi, where the victim was sleeping when the assailants entered the house and carried out the crime.
The couple had been married for 15 years, but their relationship was reportedly strained due to constant disputes and allegations of infidelity. The victim frequently fought with his wife over her alleged extramarital affairs, leading to physical altercations.
Police Investigation & Family Allegations
According to reports, the victim’s family claimed that his wife, Puja Sethy, and her father had threatened him over the phone before the attack. The couple had previously filed complaints at Balichhai police outpost, but the disputes were settled through mediation.
Two years ago, Puja left her husband’s house and moved back to her parental home. The victim’s family alleges that she conspired with her father to eliminate him, leading to the fatal stabbing.
Authorities Respond
Kabisuryanagar police officer Niranjan Das, along with SDPO Purushottampur Deepak Mishra, arrived at the crime scene. The body was seized, and an investigation is underway. Police are questioning the accused and gathering evidence to determine the true motive behind the crime.
