Balasore, Mar 28: In a heartbreaking incident, a woman from Gobarghoti village under Basta police limits, succumbed to poisoning after a dispute with her husband over Rs 20.
Rinky Mandal, a mother of two, reportedly consumed pesticide meant for agricultural use after an argument with her husband, Jagan Mandal. The couple, who married in 2017, had been known to have frequent altercations, according to their families.
On the fateful evening, Rinki had requested ₹20 to purchase items for their daughters, sparking a heated argument. Later, in the absence of other family members, she ingested the pesticide. Despite being rushed to a nearby hospital, Rinky was declared dead upon arrival.
Her parental family has lodged a police complaint alleging foul play, accusing Jagan of her death. The police have detained Jagan and launched an investigation into the matter.
This tragic event underscores the severe consequences of unresolved domestic conflicts and financial stress within families. Investigations are ongoing as both families reel from the loss.
