Bhubaneswar, Aug 8: A shocking incident unfolded in Barimunda village under Mancheswar police limits, where a young man, identified as Kanhu Charan Barik, was found dead by suicide, allegedly driven by relentless domestic abuse from his wife.
Kanhu, who had married a woman from Dhauli area just one and a half years ago, was discovered hanging from a ceiling fan in his residence on Friday afternoon. Locals reported that Kanhu had been enduring severe emotional and psychological distress due to ongoing harassment at home.
Mancheswar police reached the scene and seized the body for post-mortem examination at Capital Hospital. Investigators are currently probing the circumstances surrounding the death, including allegations of mental torture and domestic violence.
