Bhubaneswar, May 31: The sacred wedding of Lord Lingaraj and Goddess Gauri at Shree Lingaraj Temple and Kedar Gauri Temple faced delays, leading to dissatisfaction among servitors. Devotees were granted darshan without the traditional Mangala Alati, a ritual considered essential in the proceedings.

The wedding, initially scheduled earlier in the night, was completed late, with servitors ensuring all customs were followed. As the divine couple set out for their ceremonial journey, thousands of devotees gathered on balconies and rooftops, overwhelmed with devotion. Several intersections along the route saw elaborate welcome arrangements, with lamps lit in reverence.

Tonight, the deities will return to Shree Lingaraj Temple amidst tight security. A police force will be stationed along the procession route, restricting public access within the security perimeter to ensure smooth passage. Authorities have urged devotees to maintain order and cooperate during the return journey.
