Bhubaneswar, Aug 8: In a major step toward transparent and efficient governance, Odisha Legislative Assembly Speaker Surama Padhy inaugurated the Assembly’s newly revamped website at a ceremony attended by key ministers and officials. The launch marks a significant milestone in digital governance, aiming to make legislative processes more accessible to the public.
The website, developed with technical guidance from the National Informatics Centre (NIC) and Odisha Government’s NICT division, replaces the outdated portal that hadn’t been updated since 2011. It now offers comprehensive information on Assembly proceedings, members, committees, and upcoming events.
Speaker Surama Padhy emphasized that the new platform will play a vital role in connecting citizens with the workings of the Assembly. “This is a step toward more transparent and responsive governance,” she said, adding that the portal will also support registration for members attending the upcoming national-level conference on Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes welfare, to be held in Bhubaneswar on August 29–30.
The conference will host dignitaries including the Lok Sabha Speaker, Rajya Sabha Deputy Chairman, and committee heads from various states and union territories. Odisha will serve as the host state for this prestigious event.
