Dhenkanal, Jan 19: Dhenkanal Sadar Police have arrested a man in connection with a physical assault of a woman, Saturday night.

As per the report, the accused, identified as Hrishikesh Sahoo -- reportedly a youth, physically assaulted the woman, who was living in a rented house alone.

Hrishikesh, a native of Deogarh district, was working in a mill near the victim's rented house. Reports say that the accused was keeping an eye on the victim for past few days.

The woman came out of the house Saturday night for some work. The accused was looking for an opportunity to enter the house. He took the opportunity to enter the house just before the woman returned home.

After the woman entered the house, the accused threatened her with a knife and tied the victim's hands and legs. He physically assaulted her -- allegedly raped her. The incident happened between 8 pm and 11 pm.

The victim registered a complaint in writing in this connection at the Dhenkanal Sadar Police Station. Later the police investigated the matter and arrested the accused, recovering the used knife from him.
