Dhenkanal, Apr 21: A horrifying murder has shaken the town of Dhenkanal, Odisha, where Maheshwar Behera, also known as Titu, was brutally killed in front of his wife.

The incident occurred late Sunday night in the Karigar Sahi area, leaving the community in shock.

According to reports, Maheshwar was returning home when he was suddenly attacked by assailants who shot him in both legs.

Hearing the gunshots, his wife rushed out of the house, only to witness the attackers dragging her husband and smashing his head with stones. Despite being rushed to the district hospital, Maheshwar was declared dead by the doctors.

The Town Police have launched an investigation into the case, suspecting that the murder might have been motivated by previous enmity. The brutal nature of the crime has raised concerns about safety and security in the area, prompting calls for swift justice.

This tragic incident highlights the need for stronger measures to prevent such heinous crimes and ensure the safety of citizens.
