Bhubaneswar, Apr 3: Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan Thursday welcomed the passing of the Odisha Universities (Amendment) Bill 2024 and said that the new amended bill has been prepared in line with the objectives outlined in Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visionary of National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.
Aligned with the objectives of the National Education Policy 2020, the amendments are set to modernise university governance, ensure transparent and accountable administration, and improve the quality of education in Odisha.
By maintaining alignment with UGC standards and focusing on inclusive decision-making, this amendment will not only bring improvements in university management but also advance the academic environment and the growth of educational institutions.
The Union Minister remarked that the visionary leadership of Chief Minister Mohan Majhi and the efforts of the Higher Education Minister underscore the government's commitment to holistic development in university systems.
He further praised the “double-engine government” for ensuring educational reform, laying the foundation for a brighter academic future in Odisha.
