Bhubaneswar, Nov 4: Former Union Minister and Sambalpur MP Dharmendra Pradhan on Wednesday paid tributes to Swami Laxmanananda Saraswati on his birth centenary, describing him as a revered saint who dedicated his entire life to the upliftment of tribal communities and the preservation of India's religious and cultural heritage.

महाप्रभु श्री जगन्नाथ जी की पावन धरा ओडिशा के महान संत, धर्म-संस्कृति के संवाहक और जनजातीय समाज के उत्थान के लिए अपना संपूर्ण जीवन समर्पित करने वाले पूज्य स्वामी लक्ष्मणानंद सरस्वती जी की जन्मशती पर उन्हें कोटि-कोटि वंदन करता हूँ। ओडिशा के कंधमाल को अपनी कर्मभूमि बनाकर स्वामी जी ने जनजातीय समाज के बीच शिक्षा, सामाजिक जागरण, स्वावलंबन और सांस्कृतिक चेतना के प्रसार के लिए आजीवन कार्य किया। धर्म और समाज की रक्षा के लिए उनका संघर्ष, त्याग और सर्वोच्च बलिदान सदैव स्मरणीय रहेगा। राष्ट्रीय स्वयंसेवक संघ के सरकार्यवाह माननीय श्री दत्तात्रेय होसबाले जी ने भी अपने वक्तव्य में स्वामी जी के प्रेरणादायी जीवन, जनजातीय समाज के बीच उनके योगदान और धर्मरक्षा के लिए उनके बलिदान का स्मरण किया है। पूज्य स्वामी लक्ष्मणानंद सरस्वती जी का तप, त्याग और समाज के प्रति समर्पण आने वाली पीढ़ियों को सदैव सेवा, संस्कार और धर्म के मार्ग पर चलने की प्रेरणा देता रहेगा। https://t.co/qCGGmpu2f0

Tribute to a Saint

In a post on X, Pradhan said Swami Laxmanananda Saraswati, who made Kandhamal in Odisha his karmabhoomi, worked tirelessly among tribal communities to promote education, social awareness, self-reliance and cultural consciousness.

He noted that the saint devoted his life to strengthening social values and empowering marginalised communities through service-oriented initiatives.

Legacy of Service

Pradhan said Swami Laxmanananda's struggle, sacrifice and supreme dedication towards protecting religion and society would always be remembered.

Referring to remarks made by Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) Sarkaryavah Dattatreya Hosabale, the BJP leader said the RSS functionary had also recalled the saint's inspirational life, his contributions to tribal welfare and his sacrifice in the cause of dharma.

Emphasising the enduring relevance of Swami Laxmanananda's ideals, Pradhan said his penance, selfless service and commitment to society would continue to inspire future generations to follow the path of service, values and spirituality.

Swami Laxmanananda Saraswati is widely remembered for his extensive work among tribal communities in Odisha, particularly in Kandhamal district, where he championed educational and social initiatives rooted in cultural awareness and self-reliance.
