New Delhi, Aug 24: Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan paid heartfelt tribute to former Finance Minister Arun Jaitley on his death anniversary.
Pradhan joined senior BJP leaders and party workers to offer floral tributes at a solemn ceremony held at Arun Jaitley Park, Sirifort.
In his remarks, Pradhan described Jaitley as a “distinguished legal mind, eloquent speaker, and the true Ajatshatru of politics”, referring to his ability to maintain cordial relations across party lines while remaining a formidable political strategist.

Known for his sharp intellect and persuasive oratory, Arun Jaitley served as Finance Minister from 2014 to 2019 and played a pivotal role in shaping key economic reforms, including the rollout of the Goods and Services Tax (GST).
Jaitley previously held the cabinet portfolios of Finance, Defence, Corporate Affairs, Commerce and Industry, and Law and Justice in the Vajpayee government and Narendra Modi government.
From 2009 to 2014, he served as the Leader of the Opposition in the Rajya Sabha. He was a Senior Advocate of the Supreme Court of India. He oversaw the introduction of the Goods and Services Tax which brought the country under one GST regime, demonetisation, merger of Railway budget with general budget and introduction of Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code.
