Sambalpur, Oct 3: In a significant step towards enhancing rural healthcare infrastructure, Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan laid the foundation stone for a new Community Health Centre (CHC) and inaugurated a Primary Health Centre (PHC) at Debeipali in Odisha’s Sambalpur district on Friday.

Empowering Local Health Access
Speaking on the occasion, Minister Pradhan emphasized that "Health is a treasure of human life and a fundamental right of every individual." The newly inaugurated and proposed centres are expected to meet the growing healthcare needs of the local population, especially in underserved areas of Sambalpur district, he said.

✨The Community Health Centre will offer primary medical
services, maternal care, and preventive health programs, while the PHC will
serve as a hub for outreach and wellness initiatives. These developments are
part of a broader strategy to decentralize healthcare and bring essential
services closer to rural communities.

Double Engine Government’s Commitment
The Minister highlighted that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the double engine government is committed to strengthening the health infrastructure in Sambalpur district. The initiative reflects a focused effort to bridge the urban-rural healthcare divide and ensure equitable access to medical facilities.
Earlier in the day, Minister Pradhan inaugurated a Common Facility Centre for Cage fish farming at Hirakud in Sambalpur district. The facility, developed over 37 acres with an investment of Rs 7 crore, aims to boost aquaculture infrastructure and empower local fish farmers.
