Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of multiple development projects in Baripada.


The Minister held review meeting with Odisha Ministers and MPs on various issues related to education and skill development.

Baripada, Sep 15: Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of multiple development projects in Baripada during his day-long visit to Odisha’s Mayurbhanj district on Monday.


Pradhan inaugurated the newly constructed administrative building of the Mayurbhanj Athletic Association at the Baripada Stadium complex, built at a cost of Rs1 crore. “This is an important step towards encouraging our young talents and developing sports infrastructure,” he posted on X.

 

The Minister also laid foundation stone for the Baripada Chhau Pandala project, a symbol of Mayurbhanj's cultural heritage. “This project will provide a beautiful foundation for other cultural programmes including Chhau dance,” he said.

Pradhan also laid foundation stone for the Jubuli Park and Jhinjiri Dam Renovation Project worth Rs 26 crore, aiming a major facelift for local heritage and recreational spaces.


 

Following the inaugurations, Minister Pradhan attended an educational review meeting at the Shaheed Smruti Bhavan near the District Collector’s office here. The session focused on assessing the academic progress and challenges in Mayurbhanj, with participation from Higher Education Minister Suryabanshi Suraj, School Education Minister Nityananda Gond, and other dignitaries including MPs Mamata Mohanty, Nabacharan Majhi, and Pratap Sarangi.

Just days before his Odisha visit, Pradhan inaugurated the Atal Incubation Centre at IIT Delhi’s Abu Dhabi campus—the first of its kind hosted by an Indian university overseas. He emphasized its role in fostering Indo-UAE innovation in deep tech, AI, clean energy, and healthcare.
