Bhubaneswar, Aug 14: Ahead of the 80th Independence Day, Sambalpur MP and former Union minister Dharmendra Pradhan on Friday hoisted the national flag at his residence in Bhubaneswar as part of the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign and extended Independence Day greetings to the people.
Pradhan said the campaign, launched under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has created a unique sense of nationalism, unity and self-respect across the country.
Pradhan Calls For National Unity, Social Harmony
Pradhan appealed to the people of Odisha and the country to participate in the campaign by hoisting the national flag at their homes and spreading the message of national unity, peace and social harmony.
Meanwhile, a ‘Tiranga Yatra’ was organised from Nilakanthapur in Dhenkanal district, the birthplace of Baji Rout. Pradhan and Dhenkanal MP Rudra Narayan Pany joined the procession, which began after thousands of people welcomed the leaders.

The procession will proceed to the memorial of Baji Rout, regarded as the youngest martyr of the freedom movement.
Tiranga Rally In Sambalpur
Earlier on August 9, a ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ programme was organised in Sambalpur. Pradhan inaugurated the Tiranga Yatra from the Sambalpur Reserve Police ground after lighting a lamp in front of Maa Samaleswari.
Thousands of students, young people and locals participated in the rally despite light rain. Carrying the Tricolour, participants raised slogans including ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai’ and ‘Vande Mataram’.
Pradhan said the campaign, launched under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has created a unique sense of nationalism, unity and self-respect across the country.
