Sambalpur MP Dharmendra Pradhan welcomed the Union Cabinet's decision to continue the National Social Assistance Programme with a Rs 53,428-crore outlay and approve a 78-day Productivity-Linked Bonus for 11.40 lakh railway employees, describing both measures as significant welfare and workforce initiatives.

Bhubaneswar, Oct 14: Sambalpur MP and former Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan on Wednesday welcomed two key decisions of the Union Cabinet, praising the Centre's move to strengthen social security for vulnerable sections and reward the contribution of railway employees.

In a post on X, Pradhan said the Cabinet, chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, had approved the continuation of the National Social Assistance Programme (NSAP) with an outlay of Rs 53,428 crore for the period from 2026-27 to 2030-31.

The Sambalpur MP said the decision would bolster social security measures for vulnerable sections of society through revised eligibility norms, expanded coverage and enhanced pension assistance for Divyangjan beneficiaries. According to Pradhan, the move reflects the government's commitment to building a more inclusive and dignified future for citizens.
