Sambalpur, Sep 14: Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan conducted a comprehensive review of developmental activities in Sambalpur district during a high-level meeting held at the District Collector’s office.
The session focused on the theme “Prosperous Villages, Prosperous Sambalpur,” highlighting key sectors such as agriculture, dairy, fisheries, urban development, education, and sports infrastructure.
The meeting was attended by prominent figures including Minister Rabi Narayan Naik, MLA Jayanarayan Mishra, RDC, Northern Range IG, District Collector, SP, Commissioner, and other senior officials.
Discussions revolved around enhancing rural livelihoods through farm development, livestock rearing, milk production, and pond rejuvenation. The Union Minister emphasized the importance of strengthening local economies through schemes like NRAGS, which are empowering laborers and farmers to contribute to economic growth.

Union Minister Pradhan noted that grassroots organizations are actively working on improving production, market access, and foundational infrastructure. He also highlighted the district’s potential in tourism, forest-based products, mining, MSMEs, and industrial growth.
Sambalpur’s rich cultural heritage, when integrated with modern urban planning, can transform the district into a vibrant and sustainable urban-rural model.
The administration has already initiated several proposals
to bridge traditional values with contemporary development. The Union Education
Minister reiterated the Centre’s commitment to supporting these initiatives and
making Sambalpur a model of inclusive growth and self-reliance.
