Bhubaneswar, Jul 28: Senior BJP leader and Sambalpur MP Dharmendra Pradhan on Tuesday joined dignitaries and spiritual leaders in Bhubaneswar for the launch of a book chronicling the life and contributions of revered monk Swami Lakshmanananda Saraswati.

The book, titled “Vedanta Kesari Swami Lakshmanananda Saraswati: Kruti O Byaktitva”, was unveiled in the presence of RSS Sarkaryavah Dattatreya Hosabale, Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, spiritual head of the International Kriyayoga Sangha Swami Paramahamsa Prajnanananda, Swami Lakshmanananda Saraswati Smruti Nyas president Swami Jeevan Muktananda, and trustee Mansukhlal Sethia.

Pradhan described his participation as a privilege, noting that Swami Lakshmanananda Saraswati remains a central figure of reverence for Odisha and the wider Hindu society. He said the book is not merely a publication but a “sacred chronicle of his penance, struggle, and service,” long awaited by devotees.

Paying homage to the monk, Pradhan recalled his lifelong dedication to social service, education, and protection of values. “Swamiji burnt like a lamp to illuminate the lives of others,” he remarked, adding that his ideals must inspire Odisha and India to progress towards 2036 and 2047 milestones.

He extended gratitude to the book’s author Bipin Bihari Nanda, former Utkal Prant Sangh Chalak, and Dr. Banchhanidhi Panda, former president of Bharatiya Shikshan Mandal, along with the publishers, wishing the work success.

The event highlighted Swami Lakshmanananda Saraswati’s enduring legacy as a spiritual guide and social reformer. His contributions to education, community service, and cultural preservation continue to resonate across Odisha. The book launch was seen as a reaffirmation of his influence on contemporary society and politics.
