Bhubaneswar, Jul 31: Director General of Police (DGP) YB Khurania on Friday chaired a high-level review meeting to assess security and safety arrangements ahead of President Droupadi Murmu's visit to Odisha from August 3 to 5, directing all agencies to strictly follow the Blue Book protocol for VVIP security.

The review focused on ensuring seamless coordination among the police, Railways and civil administration for the President's visit, particularly in view of her proposed train journey.

Blue Book Protocol To Be Strictly Followed
The DGP instructed all concerned departments to adhere to the established Blue Book guidelines governing VVIP security.

Nodal officers will be designated to coordinate security-related responsibilities across departments and ensure smooth execution of the security plan.

Railway Route Under High Alert
Special emphasis was laid on railway security, with Bhubaneswar and Berhampur railway stations to remain on high alert during the President's visit.

Authorities will intensify track patrolling along the entire route, while all level crossings will remain manned throughout the duration of the visit.

Railway personnel assigned platform duties will be identified in advance and issued duty passes to facilitate seamless movement.

Anti-Sabotage Checks, Drone Surveillance Planned
The DGP directed that anti-sabotage checks be carried out on priority across all venues and travel routes.

Comprehensive security measures, including drone surveillance and continuous monitoring of the route and venues, will also be undertaken to strengthen preparedness.

Senior Officials Attend Review Meeting

The meeting was attended by Director (Intelligence) RP Koche, ADGP (Law & Order) Sanjay Kumar, ADGP (SAP) Rajesh Kumar, Bhubaneswar-Cuttack Police Commissioner S Dev Datta Singh, Principal Chief Security Commissioner (East Coast Railway) Alok Bohra, IGP (Central Range) Satyajit Naik, SP, CID-CB Vivekananda Sharma and other senior officials.

The DGP directed all senior officers to maintain close coordination among the police, Railways and administrative authorities to ensure a smooth, secure and dignified visit for the President.
