Bhubaneswar, Sep 10: The Odisha government will flag off a special train from Bhubaneswar Railway Station on Wednesday, carrying 775 elderly pilgrims to Ayodhya and Varanasi under the Senior Citizen Pilgrimage Scheme.
Deputy Chief Ministers KV Singh Deo and Pravati Parida will jointly inaugurate the journey by waving the ceremonial flag at the station, amid a dedicated arrangement for the pilgrims. The initiative aims to provide spiritual fulfillment and ease of travel for senior citizens across the state.

✨Pilgrims from six districts are part of this journey: 89 from Dhenkanal, 85 from Jagatsinghpur, 127 from Puri, 108 from Kendrapada, 197 from Cuttack, and 169 from Khordha. Accompanying them are 25 trained escort guides to ensure safety, comfort, and coordination throughout the trip.
The scheme reflects the government’s commitment to honoring
the elderly and promoting inclusive welfare.
