Deogarh, Oct 8: In a shocking incident from Outal village under Barkote police limits in Deogarh district, a man allegedly murdered his elderly father and attempted to bury the body in the farmland near their house.
The gruesome crime occurred on Wednesday morning when Hrudananda Behera attacked his father Balabhadra Behera with a sharp weapon following a heated argument.

According to sources, the dispute arose when Hrudananda tried to sell meat from a domesticated sheep, which his father opposed.

The disagreement escalated, leading Hrudananda to strike his father fatally with a cleaver. After the murder, he dug a pit in the farmland and buried the body in an attempt to conceal the crime.
However, local residents grew suspicious and informed Barkote police, who arrived at the scene with a scientific team and began an investigation. The accused was taken into custody, and all materials used in the crime and burial were seized.
In the presence of an executive magistrate, the buried body was exhumed and sent for post-mortem examination. The incident has sent shockwaves through the community, highlighting the tragic consequences of domestic disputes.
