Nayagarh, Jan 6: Years-long aspirations of the people of the Nayagarh district's Dasapalla area were fulfilled today with the inauguration of a rail line and railway station at Daspalla. 

Railways Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw inaugurated the Nuagaon Road-Daspalla section of the Khurda Road- Balangir new rail line and Daspalla railway station building. Besides, the Minister also flagged off four train services to Dasapalla. 

The 15-km rail line was connected from Nuagaon to Dasapalla. 

Facilities include three line stations with two loop lines, two high-level platforms with platform shelters, a foot over-bridge connecting both platforms, circulating area with a parking facility. 

People can now travel by train directly to Puri, Bhubaneswar, and Bhadrak. Train services will boost the socioeconomic development of the region. 

Speaking on the occasion, Railways Minister Vaishnaw said the projects have been possible because the Narendra Modi Government is committed to the overall development of Odisha. While less than Rs 800 crore was being sanctioned for rail infrastructure in Odisha before 2014, the Narendra Modi Government is now providing over Rs 10,000 crore per annum to Odisha, he said.

He said about 450-km rail line is being constructed in Odisha annually.
