Rayagada, May 21: The decomposed body of a man was recovered from a rented house at Odia Tota Sahi in Gandhi Nagar in Rayagada town this morning.  

The deceased has been identified as Srinivas (50). 

According to the information, Srinivas was working with a contractor. He had been staying in the house of Babu Rao Mohanty on rent for the last five years. As his movement was not seen for a few days, some neighbours went to his room and knocked on the door. To their astonishment, they found him dead and his body rotted.  

On being informed, the Rayagda town police reached the spot and recovered the body. After sending the body for postmortem, the police have started an investigation. 

The exact reason behind his death is yet to be known.
