Cuttack, Sep 29: A crucial decision regarding the organization of Bali Jatra at Upper field in Cuttack is expected on Monday, as the district administration prepares to hold a high-level meeting at the Collector’s office. The meeting will be attended by Cuttack MP, local MLAs, CMC Mayor, BJP district president, and leaders from various political parties.
Earlier this year, the district administration had decided not to organize Bali Jatra at Upper field, citing logistical and administrative concerns. This decision sparked widespread opposition from various quarters, including political leaders and local citizens who consider the venue a traditional and culturally significant site for the annual fair.
In response to the growing public sentiment, Cuttack BJP district president Sukant Biswal led a delegation to meet Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi. The delegation urged the CM to instruct the district administration to allow Bali Jatra to be held at Upper field this year.
