Puri, May 30: The number of deaths in the Puri firecracker explosion incident rose to three with two more people succumbing to injuries this morning.
According to the informaiton, while one person was declared dead by doctors at the SCB Medical College and Hospital, Cuttack, yesterday, two others, from among the injured persons, succumbed to severe burn injuries in a private hospital in Cuttack this morning. More than 30 injured persons are still undergoing treatment at various hospitals in Bhubaneswar and Cuttack.
A team of doctors led by Plastic Surgery Department HoD Dr. Bibhuti Bhushan Nayak has been formed at the SCB Medical College and Hospital for the treatment of injured persons.

✨As many as 15 ICUs in SCB and five in Aswini Hospital were reserved for the patients.
While the Chief Minister has announced free treatment for all the patients, the Chief Secretary has said an investigation will be conducted into the incident.
The shocking incident occurred due to an 'uncontrolled' explosion of firecrackers during the Chapa Khela (Boating of Deities) in the holy Narendra Pushkarani (Narendra Pond) here last night.
