Bhadrak, Apr 17: As many as six persons, including two women, suffered serious injuries following a deadly confrontation between two groups at Kanpada village under Tihidi police jurisdiction in Bhadrak district late last night.

The violence was reportedly triggered by long-standing political enmity, leading to an assault near the residence of one Ramesh Mallik.

According to reports, the situation turned ugly after members of one group allegedly attacked Mallik's family. The fierce attack escalated when another group retaliated with hand bombs. Following the incident, over six individuals, including two women, suffered serious injuries.

On being informed, police reached the spot and rescued the injured persons to nearby hospitals for treatment.

While a case has been registered against the accused persons, police personnel have been deployed in the area to maintain law and order.
