The total amount adds up to ₹10,19,756, making it one of the highest fines imposed on a single vehicle in recent times in Odisha.

The bus was found operating without a valid fitness certificate and pollution control clearance, posing safety and environmental risks. Additionally, the absence of a valid permit and insurance raised serious concerns about passenger safety and legal compliance.

Transport authorities have intensified their enforcement drive across the state, targeting vehicles that flout norms and endanger public safety. The Cuttack RTO has warned that similar action will be taken against other violators, and urged vehicle owners to ensure timely renewal of documents and tax payments.

This move is part of a broader initiative to improve road safety, reduce pollution, and ensure accountability among commercial vehicle operators.
