Cuttack, Apr 17: In a high-stakes operation, police apprehended two dreaded criminals following an encounter in Cuttack's Choudwar area.

The accused persons, identified as Sangram Raut alias Katas of Nandankanan area and Subhranshu Parida alias Jubula of Bayalis Mouza region, with bullet injuries, are reportedly admitted to Trauma Centre of the SCB Medical College & Hospital for further treatment.

According to reports, the police were conducting checks when the two criminals on a bike attempted to escape the blockade. As the police team cornered the criminals, they opened fire. The escalating confrontation led to both being injured in their legs by police gunfire.

Following the arrest, the accused persons were taken into custody and will be forwarded to court as several cases are pending against Sangram and Subhranshu at different police stations.
