Cuttack, Aug 7: In a landmark judgment, the Special POCSO Court in Cuttack has sentenced Budhia Bindhani to life imprisonment for the rape of multiple minor girls. The court also imposed a fine of ₹60,000, with an additional two-year prison term if the fine remains unpaid.
The heinous crimes occurred under the jurisdiction of CDA Phase 2 Police Station in September 2022. Bindhani was found guilty of sexually assaulting three minor girls over a period of time, using threats of murder to silence them and prevent disclosure of the abuse.

✨The court, recognizing the gravity of the offenses, directed that each survivor be compensated with ₹4 lakh. The compensation will be facilitated through the District Legal Services Authority. Government prosecutor Ramesh Chandra Mohanty represented the victims and led the prosecution.
