Cuttack, Mar 18: The SCB Medical College & Hospital in Cuttack scripted history as a multidisciplinary team of doctors from the departments of plastic surgery, orthopaedic and anesthesia successfully performed their first-ever lower limb replantation surgery on an eight-year-old girl.

The operation lasted for nearly 4 hours.

According to reports, an eight-year-old girl named Vaisnavi lost his leg in a road accident on NH 18 at Betnoti in Mayurbhanj district. She was immediately rescued and admitted to hospital in Baripada. The girl was soon shifted to SCB Medical College & Hospital where the medical team performed the surgery.


After a hradship for nearly 4 hours, the operation was concluded successfully. 

While the family members of the victim are delighted, on the other hand, the health condition of the minor girl is stated to be stable now.
