Cuttack, Apr 1: Properties worth lakhs of rupees were destroyed after a massive fire erupted at a suitcase showroom in Cuttack's Dolamundai area Tuesday morning.

According to reports, the matter came to light this morning when a staff, working at the showroom, noticed fire in an air-conditioner installed in the building. 

On being informed, Fire and Emergency Service department were pressed in service to douse the flames.

However, after hour of effort, the fire was brought under control.

While the exact reason is yet to be ascertained, an electrical short circuit is suspected behind the incident.

On the other hand, Assistant Fire Officer (AFO) Prabhat Kumar Singh has said that the cause of the fire is being investigated, and all related documents are being examined.
