Cuttack City Hospital Official Properties Raided In Rs 1.24Cr Misappropriation Case

Cuttack, Aug 22:  Odisha Vigilance on Friday launched simultaneous searches at five locations linked to Kishore Kumar Sahani, Senior Assistant at the Chief District Medical Officer (CDMO) office in Cuttack, following serious allegations of disproportionate assets and embezzlement of government funds.

The raids are being conducted at Sahani’s residence in Jobra, his in-laws’ house in Deula Sahi, the CDMO office premises, a farm located in Choudwar and another residential property in Kishornagar.

According to reports, Sahani is accused of misappropriating approximately Rs 1.24 crore in government funds, in addition to possessing assets far exceeding his known sources of income.

A massive team comprising 9 Deputy Superintendents of Police (DSPs), 10 Inspectors, and 7 Assistant Sub-Inspectors (ASIs) have been deployed for the operation.

The raids are being carried out under the supervision of senior vigilance officials, and documents, cash, and other valuables are being scrutinized.

The investigation is ongoing, and further details are expected to emerge as the searches progress.
