Cuttack Bali Yatra Extended By A Day

The annual historic  trade fair, Bali Yatra, has been extended by a day, informed CMC Mayor Subash Singh today.  
 

Cuttack, Dec 4: The annual historic  trade fair, Bali Yatra, has been extended by a day, informed CMC Mayor Subhash Singh today.  

The open fair, which was inaugurated on November 27 in Cuttack, will now conclude on December 5, which was earlier scheduled to end on December 4.

Subash Singh, the Mayor of Cuttack Municipal Corporation (CMC) has written to Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik for extension of the ongoing Bali Jatra 2023 for two days.

Replying to the Letter, CM Naveen Patnaik given approval for extention of one day instead of two days.

Bali Yatra is organized every year in memory of the rich maritime history of Odisha.

Bali Yatra grounds get crowded as day grows to afternoon and then to evening with lakhs of revellers coming from far and wide gather there to enjoy the historic festival being held after a gap of two years. As many as 2,000 stalls selling various kinds of products from needle to cars have been put up at the Bali Yatra ground. 

The festival is organised at the bank of the Mahanadi River every year to mark the day when ancient mariners from the state would set sail to the distant land of Bali, Sumatra, Java (Jawa) in Indonesia, Borneo and Sri Lanka, for the expansion of trade and culture.
