While Gumuda recovered and resumed duty, Sitamani spent two months in the ICU. Tragically, she lost vision in both eyes due to the accident and now lives with complete blindness. Her condition has left her dependent on her elderly parents, who are struggling to support her.
Despite her vulnerability, Gumuda allegedly distanced himself from Sitamani and is reportedly preparing for a second marriage. Sitamani and her family have approached the district collector, pleading for justice and intervention.
The incident has sparked outrage in the local community, raising questions about moral responsibility and the treatment of disabled spouses. Sitamani’s story is a painful reminder of the need for stronger social and legal protections for women abandoned due to disability.

ensure that the victim’s rights are upheld.
