Crack Down on Serial Offenders: Keonjhar Police Nab Notorious Criminal in Robbery Case

Keonjhar, Sep 10: In a major breakthrough, Keonjhar Sadar Police have arrested five hardened criminals, including the notorious Prabhat Mallick, who has been linked to over 40 criminal cases across Odisha.
The arrests were made in connection with a recent robbery incident in the Jogimatha area of Keonjhar district.
According to Inspector Amit Kumar Bhuyan of Sadar Police Station, the gang broke into the residence of Urmila Choudhury on the September 7, stealing three heavy gold ornaments and ₹15,000 in cash.
Acting swiftly on the complaint, police formed a special team and launched raids across multiple locations. The operation led to the arrest of Prabhat Mallick and three of his associates from Gambharia village.

During the arrest, police recovered ₹1,32,500 in cash, a Bajaj Pulsar bike, a Yamaha bike, and four mobile phones from the accused. All five were produced in court under case number 520/25.
In a separate operation, Keonjhar police, with assistance from Jaleswar Police, apprehended inter-state dacoit Braja Gopal Das from Baghabali village. Das, a resident of Kamarda area, was found in possession of a firearm, sharp weapons, dacoity tools, and stolen gold ornaments. His accomplices were also taken into custody.
These arrests mark a significant success for Keonjhar police
in curbing organized crime and restoring public confidence in law enforcement.
