Khurda, Apr 17: Panic gripped Gaudapatna village under Jankia police jurisdiction in Khurda district after the bodies of a youth and a woman were found hanging from a tree Thursday morning.

The deceased persons, identified as Aju and Shanti of Sunakhala area, were found hanging from a tree.

According to reports, the incident came to light after locals spotted the bodies and alerted the same to police, who then reached the spot and initiated a probe.

A scooter was also found parked near the crime scene, reports added.

Aju was working at a garage in Sunakhala market, while Shanti ran a beauty parlor in the same area. They were reportedly in a relationship. While initial reports suggest suicide, the exact cause of their deaths remains unclear.

Police have seized the bodies and initiated an investigation to uncover the truth behind this tragic event.
