Earlier, Government Chief Whip Saroj Pradhan recommended that the Speaker suspend Bahinipati for his unacceptable attitude in the House. BJP MLAs also supported the recommendation made by the Chief Whip.

Considering Bahinipati's attitude and members' concerns, Speaker Padhy suspended Bahinpati for seven days. Notably, Bahinipati, an MLA of the Congress party from Koraput's Jeypore constituency, climbed up the Speaker's podium as a mark of his protest in the House today.
