Bhubaneswar, Mar 9: Deepak Kumar, an interstate ATM robber, sustained injuries following an encounter by the Commissionerate Police in Bhubaneswar, Odisha, late Saturday night.

The Commissionerate Police, led by DCP Jagmohan Meena, took action against the interstate ATM robber Deepak Kumar.

During an ATM loot attempt in the Badagada area in Bhubaneswar, Deepak engaged in a confrontation with the police. He reportedly fired at the officers, prompting a retaliatory response from the police, which injured his left leg.

Deepak, originally from Bihar, has been involved in multiple ATM robberies across various locations in Odisha. He was rushed to Capital Hospital and later admitted to AIIMS due to his critical condition.

Deepak is a wanted criminal with numerous cases registered against him in different police stations, and he was previously arrested by Maharashtra's Aurangabad Police for a similar ATM loot incident. Ranchi Police also listed him as one of their most wanted criminals.
