Bhubaneswar, Aug 17: On the occasion of the 78th Independence Day, the Commissionerate Police organized a cultural program to exhibit and support local talents.

As part of the "Basti Ku Chala" initiative, the event aimed to promote various talents in areas like studies, sports, and culture, while recognizing outstanding students from different Basti areas.

The program featured performances by well-known Ollywood celebrities, including Ollywood Actor Sabyasachi Mishra, Music Director Premananda, Ollywood Actress Sheetal, Ollywood Singers Sasanka Sekhar, Antara Chakraborty and Dipti Padhi.  

These stars entertained the audience with their song performances.

In addition to the celebrity performances, Commissioner of Police Sanjeeb Panda along with DCP Bhubaneswar Prateek Singh presented the "Basti Prativa Samman" awards. These awards were given to students who achieved over 85% in their 10th and 12th exams despite challenging living conditions.

The awardees attributed their success, in part, to the dedicated police patrolling in their respective Basti areas, which provided a conducive atmosphere for study and cultural activities.

The Basti boys and girls also performed cultural events including singing and dancing on the occasion. 

This initiative by the Commissionerate Police is a significant step in supporting and nurturing the talents from Basti areas, ensuring they have the opportunities to excel in their chosen fields.

The efforts will continue, with the goal of contributing to a greater and safer society, Commissioner of Police Sanjeeb Panda said.
