Boudh, Dec 15: An exchange of fire between security personnels and Maoists which began last night in Nalikumpa forest under Manamunda police station limits in Boudh district is still continuing. With an intention to make the area Maoist free, the massive combing operation was launched last night.
One platoon police force and Special Operation Groups (SOG) personnels have been deployed in the forest area.
According to intelligence department, some naxals had their hideout in Subarnagiri forest. Acting on a tip off, a search operation was carried with the collaborative efforts of SOG jawans and the local police.

✨Observing police presence in the jungle, the Maoists opened firing. In retaliation, police shot at them. In the ensuing exchange of fire, some explosives of the Red rebels were seized by police.
According to sources, more jawans are likely to be deployed for the ongoing operation.
