Students to receive financial literacy training and stock market knowledge through a groundbreaking MoU between the Higher Education Department and NSE.
Bhubaneswar, May 15: Odisha's Higher Education Minister Suryabanshi Suraj has announced a transformative initiative aimed at equipping college students with stock market knowledge and financial literacy.
A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between the Odisha Higher Education Department and the National Stock Exchange (NSE) at a special event held at Toshali Bhavan.
This initiative will introduce stock market education in Odisha’s colleges, enabling students to learn about investing, financial management, and career opportunities in the finance sector.
Key Highlights of the MoU
- NSE will offer internship-based financial training across various colleges.
- Students will gain expertise in stock broking, financial advisory, and investment strategies.
- Training programs will be conducted at two levels — Level 1 (20 hours) and Level 2 (30 hours).
- The program primarily targets final-year commerce students, but students from other disciplines can also participate.
- After completing the course, students can pursue careers as financial advisors, stock brokers, and investment strategists.
A Step Towards Financial Literacy
The Odisha Government aims to empower students by offering specialized training in financial literacy. NSE trainers will visit colleges to provide hands-on experience, bridging the gap between education and real-world financial expertise.
With financial awareness becoming a critical skill in today's economy, this initiative marks a significant step toward preparing students for the challenges of investment, stock trading, and financial decision-making.
