The students raised slogans of 'Jai Shri Ram', which created an uproar when Pandian began his speech. This created disorder at the event.
The programme was organised to encourage students to excel in their extra curricular activities including sports, singing and dance.
It is believed that this is the first time that such an incident has taken place during Pandian's programme in the State.
