Keonjhar, Feb 21: In a tragic incident, a college student lost his life by drowning in the Baitarani river at Kundeswar under Ghashipur police station limits in Keonjhar district on Wednesday. 

The deceased has been identified as Ranjit Jena of Guhalia village. 

According to the information, Janjit was taking a bath along with his friends when he slipped into deep water and drowned. 
On being informed, a fire brigade rushed to the spot and recovered his body. He was declared dead at the Anandpur Sub Divisional Hospital (SDH). 

Ranjit was studying in Plus III at the Tukuna Sanskrit College. His death has sent a shockwave in the area. 

The local police have registered an unnatural death case and started an investigation.
