Bhadrak, Apr 20: In a bold operation, Bhadrak police have intensified their efforts to curb illegal coal smuggling in the region. Acting on intelligence reports, Bhadrak City DSP Sambit Majhi disguised himself as a labourer to infiltrate the smuggling network.

The operation led to the seizure of four coal-laden vehicles, including two 16-wheeled trucks and two pickup vans, near Charampa. These vehicles were en route from Rahanja to Jajpur, carrying illegally mined coal.

The coal mafias fled the scene upon realizing the presence of law enforcement. The seized vehicles have been brought to the police station for further investigation.

The police have confirmed that the smuggling operation was part of a larger network transporting coal from Rahanja to Jajpur. Efforts are underway to apprehend the culprits and dismantle the smuggling ring.

This crackdown highlights the growing issue of coal smuggling in Bhadrak and the proactive measures taken by the police to address it. The operation serves as a reminder of the importance of vigilance and swift action in combating illegal activities.
